Curriculum Vitale of
Perry N. Barham
Perry has more than thirty one years of experience as a senior level pipeline engineer for a major pipeline operating company. Perry's has extensive experience in pipeline design, construction management, maintenance, integrity management and planning, in-line inspection (ILI) technologies and application and repair planning. Perry's experience includes technical design and maintenance for all aspects of corrosion prevention and internal inspection of pipelines utilizing the most advanced ILI technologies available, including axial and transverse Magnetic Flux Leakage (MFL), Ultrasonic and Electromagnetic Acoustic Transducers (EMAT).
Career highlights include:
-
1999-2009 BP Pipelines (North America)
Perry's primary engineering responsibilities were the analysis, evaluation and interpretation of ILI data and the development of comprehensive repair plans based on evaluation of the ILI data. Perry was responsible for the evaluation of several new technologies that had not previously been used by BP. Perry's work generated several computer programs to assist in determining the severity of defects found by internal inspections. The computer programs combined ASME B31G Modified safe pressure calculations and the Leak/Rupture evaluation.
-
1994-1999 Amoco Corporation Worldwide Engineering & Construction co-located with Amoco Pipeline Company
Perry's engineering assignments included Project Engineering/Project Management on three major capital projects. Two major projects were CO2 pipelines in West Texas and the third was a major oil gathering pipeline which included three pump stations and two new storage tanks. Responsibilities in the three projects included design, construction management, and commissioning. Perry also provided ILI support including pipeline system review for ILI tools, organizing, scheduling and running the tools, interpretation of the ILI results and developing the repair plans.
-
1988-1999 Amoco Pipeline Company Engineering Department-Technical Services Group -Perry was responsible for creating new Amoco Engineering Specifications due to the consolidation of four Amoco divisions. The specifications developed included all aspects of pipeline construction and maintenance. The most notable Engineering Specifications written were the general Nitrogen Purge Procedure, Line Pipe Specification, and Hydrostatic Testing Procedure. Other engineering assignments included providing metallurgical support for material selection on all company projects.
- 1978-1988 Amoco Pipeline Company-Northern Division -
Perry's engineering assignments included Corrosion Engineer, Measurement Engineer, Welding Engineer, and DOT Coordinator. As Corrosion Engineer, Perry's accomplishments included the interference testing of HVDC system in North Dakota/Minnesota that influenced AMOCO Oil’s pipeline in Minnesota, and the testing and mitigation of induced AC interference on a new 526 mile pipeline between Indiana and Alabama. Perry served as the Project Manager for implementation of the internal inspection program for all pipelines in Amoco's Northern Pipeline Division.
